Exploring Phlebotomy Training in Virginia
Phlebotomy Training in Virginia is a field of study where the student learns how to draw and examine blood. Disease symptoms could vary from person to person. Some people could have for instance an increase in red blood cells. Such symptoms may include fatigue muscle aches etc. For such diseases to be determined, the patient has to undergo frequent phlebotomy. Phlebotomy can be described as the process whereby a patient’s blood is removed from his/her body, while at the same time a saline solution (containing a weak solution of water and salt) is administered into the body. This is all done under the watch of a nurse who monitors the patient as the procedure continues. Before a patient undergoes phlebotomy, the point of incision on the arm is identified and cleaned using alcohol solution. The phlebotomist then proceeds to draw blood from the patient who in this case is instructed to relax, the arm is then placed on a flat surface. As the procedure continues, the phlebotomist monitors the patient’s blood pressure and heart rate.
